Sure, today Milwaukee can boast about hosting Summerfest, the largest music festival in the world, which attracts audiophiles from all over the country. But back in the ’60s and early ’70s, The Scene ballroom was the place to be if you wanted to catch a show from some of the era’s hottest acts. Join MCHS on a trip back to those exciting, turbulent times on Wednesday, May 15th at 7 p.m. for “The Scene: Milwaukee’s Home of Live Music, 1965-71.”

From 1965 to 1971, The Scene, once located along North 2nd Street in the old Hotel Antlers, played host some of the era’s best musicians, from Chuck Berry and Jimi Hendrix, to the Allman Brothers Band and Miles Davis.
